TNB bill calculator
Estimate a Peninsular Malaysia electricity bill from monthly usage.
Estimated bill

PowerLah works out this calculation for each room automatically.
This estimate uses the Peninsular Malaysia domestic tariff for homes and the low-voltage non-domestic tariff for shops, offices, and serviced residences. Time of Use is a separate tariff with its own peak and off-peak prices. Appliance figures reflect typical use.
How this TNB bill calculator adds up a bill
A home estimate uses the Peninsular Malaysia domestic tariff. Energy is billed at 27.03 sen/kWh while the month's usage stays at or under 1,500 kWh, with no peak or off-peak split. Once usage passes 1,500 kWh, every unit in that month is charged at 37.03 sen/kWh. Capacity is 4.55 sen/kWh, and network is 12.85 sen/kWh.
A shop, office, or serviced residence keeps energy at 27.03 sen/kWh, with capacity at 8.83 sen/kWh, network at 14.82 sen/kWh, and a retail charge of RM20.
Lines that move the total
- A home at or under 300 kWh skips the 1.6% renewable energy fund.
- A home at or under 600 kWh skips the RM10 retail charge, Automatic Fuel Adjustment, and service tax. From September through December 2026, that line moves to 800 kWh.
- Past that line, service tax applies at 8% on the part of the bill above it.
- Homes receive an energy efficiency credit that shrinks as usage climbs and ends above 1,000 kWh. A shop receives an 11 sen/kWh credit at or under 200 kWh.
Automatic Fuel Adjustment changes with each billing month, and the month menu loads the current schedule. The rental tariff guide shows where it sits on a shared bill. Time of Use sets peak and off-peak prices on a separate tariff, and the Time of Use guide explains those hours.
Questions about the estimate
Does this estimate include Automatic Fuel Adjustment?
Yes. Choose the billing month and the estimate applies that month's rate. On a home bill, Automatic Fuel Adjustment applies once usage goes above 600 kWh, or above 800 kWh from September through December 2026.
Why does a home bill change above 1,500 kWh?
Once monthly usage passes 1,500 kWh, the energy rate rises from 27.03 sen/kWh to 37.03 sen/kWh, and that higher rate applies to every unit in the month.
Can this estimate a shop, office, or serviced residence?
Yes. The shop, office, and serviced residence tariff keeps a steady energy rate, with higher capacity and network charges and a RM20 retail charge.
Can I start from appliances instead of a kWh reading?
Yes. Estimate from the property turns rooms, airconds, and other appliances into a monthly kWh figure, then prices that total.
